Farmer's Market

 

We are regular vendors at the Des Moines Downtown Farmers Market. Look for our Blue Tent on the northwest corner of Court Avenue and 2nd Street, one block west of the river.

During the unexpected hiatus from the Downtown Des Moines Farmers market, we are offering a special edition of our VegEmail program.

 

Starting May 9th, 2020, sign up for our VegEmail list to get an online order form in your inbox! We make it simple - we list the options for that week, you make your selections and choose a pick-up location. 

 

Deliveries

Saturdays from 10am -noon

Peace Tree-Des Moines Branch, the Grand Theater in Knoxville, or on the farm.

 

Products available include eggs and a rotation of fresh produce, preserves, yarn & fiber, and our seasonal seasonings.

At our Des Moines delivery, we are partnering with Ebersole Cattle Company, Lost Lake Farm LLC, and Peace Tree Brewing Company, to bring you more variety in a safe, one-stop, "stay-in-your-car" shop!

Alert! Team Blue Gate Market Opportunity

This year we are again looking for a team of folks who love the market to join Jill in the BGF tent during the Downtown Des Moines Farmers Market season. We ask that interested individuals commit to at least 2 market dates over the course of the season and to be there for set-up, selling and tear down (basically 6 am-12:30 pm or so). In appreciation for their time and efforts, volunteers earn a BGF T-shirt and a $30 credit at the booth that day. We had an awesome group of folks do this last year and everyone seemed to enjoy it. The traditional outdoor market is held every Saturday from Mother's Day weekend to Halloween. 

 

Market hours are 7:00 am - 12 noon, rain or shine (in October the market hours are 8:00 am - 12 noon). 

 

The market is located on Court Avenue between 1st (at the Des Moines River) and 5th (at the Courthouse). 

 

Traditionally, there are also two indoor markets at HyVee Hall,  One prior to Thanksgiving and the second prior to Christmas.
